art-werk is a non-profit organisation based in Geneva that links contemporary art, science and ecology.
We build bridges between artists, researchers, citizens and players in the fields of culture and ecology to imagine new ways of relating to living things.
Through exhibitions in the public space, an international biennial, educational projects in schools and cross-disciplinary collaborations, we explore how art can re-enchant our view of nature and awaken sustainable and sensitive actions.
Values
We believe that art is a powerful lever for thinking differently, feeling more deeply, and acting collectively in the face of ecological and social crises.
In a fragmented world, we are seeking to rebuild links between humans and non-humans, between knowledge and emotion, between imagination and commitment.
Get involved!
art-werk brings together art, science and ecology to raise environmental awareness through contemporary creative work. By stimulating the imagination and involving the public in sensitive and participatory experiences, we encourage a lasting transformation in our relationship with living things.
At art-werk, we work according to four fundamental principles :
Accessibility
Our projects are designed to be open to everyone, beyond the circles of contemporary art.
Participation
The public is invited to become actors, not just spectators.
Transdisciplinarity
We encourage encounters between artists, scientists, educators, institutions and local residents.
Active ecology
Our productions take into account issues of sustainability, circularity and material sobriety.
