artistic thinking workshop! Recoding digital interactions
Who the hell am I interacting with right now? The attention economy costs us daily a significant amount of our energy, constant clicks and a culture of Instant gratification are altering our body’s chemistry. Can we change the formula? In this workshop we will experiment all three phases of artistic thinking and use this method to interrogate new ways of engaging with digital spaces.
In this workshop we experiment all three phases of artistic thinking and use this method to interrogate new ways of engaging with digital spaces. artistic thinking is a contemplative and experience-oriented form of design thinking. It considers intuition and emotion as productive and an essential accompaniment to rational ways of approaching problems. artistic thinking puts intuition and emotion to work, using them to recognise and break with conditioned behaviour patterns.
The workshop takes a video and artworks as a starting point: through the de-coding and re-coding of those artworks, we undergo a process of observation and creation. Whether you are a novice or an expert in contemporary art, you will discover also during the process another way of looking at works by Jana Euler, Oscar Santillán, and Christo. Using artistic strategies, we experiment with how dissonance can nourish creativity and help in innovation processes. In addition, participants are finally invited to create a prototype of a work of art. In collaboration with design thinking experts, artist and curator, this approach allows them a practical approach that is not only cognitive, but also touches on the emotional and stimulates personal expression.
The workshop was hold @ Studiolo Berlin, im Aufbau Haus, Prinzenstrasse 85/C, 10961 Berlin / Germany and led by Bernard Vienat (curator and director of art-werk), Sebastian Gluschak (innovation consultant, TLGG), Carina Erdmann (artist, UDK), Romain Geiser (Head of Youth Empowerment & Activism, Amnesty International, Switzerland).
